Boat sharing and boat exchange guides, for owners

Plain-English guides for boat owners, written by the founder. They cover what reciprocal boat exchange is, how it differs from renting, chartering and timeshare, whether there is an "Airbnb for boats" (there is — and it's rental), what a boat actually costs to own, and what your insurance does and doesn't cover when someone else is aboard.

The Seafolk is forming its founding fleet in every market at once, and joining is free until 31 December 2026. Exchanges to stay aboard or to sail with a skipper are open today; bareboat opens once the insurance program behind it is in force — the guides say so wherever it matters.
